For just the third time in the Golden Gate Bridge’s 90-year history, fireworks will launch directly from the bridge.
The free display begins at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, celebrating both America’s 250th birthday and San Francisco’s 250th anniversary.
The best viewing spots include Crissy Field, Marina Green, Pier 39 and the northern Embarcadero. The bridge will close to vehicles shortly before the show, so officials recommend taking public transit, arriving early and dressing in layers for the cold and fog.
Can’t make it in person? NBC Bay Area will begin live coverage at 9 p.m., with the fireworks also streaming on the NBC Bay Area app and website.
