NEW: Country singer Luke Combs won’t donate money to App State 😳
In a recent interview, Luke Combs said the only way he would donate money to a program is if players agreed to sign a two year contract to stay at the school. He explained that his hesitation to contribute financially comes from what he sees as a broken system in college football, where players can leave programs so easily through the transfer portal.
Combs also said he would like to see the program move back to the FCS level so it could realistically compete for a national championship, rather than having a great season only to potentially face a powerhouse like Oregon Ducks football in the playoff and get blown out.
