This year taught me that near-death experiences are the ultimate clarity. While the world saw the highlights, my heart was in the hospital room.
Watching my wife, @marthahigareda and one of our twin daughters fight for their lives changed everything for me. Seeing them healthy today is the only “win” that truly matters.
It’s been a whirlwind of a year:
• Welcoming our twin girls and becoming a father.
• Launching another NYT bestseller and a national tour.
• Playing pro handball in Spain and winning the USA National Championship.
• Hosting incredible guests on The School of Greatness and taking the Summit to the Oscar stage.
• Reconnecting with art, jazz, and the people who fuel my soul.
• And so much more
But here’s the truth:
All the trophies and titles are fun, but they aren’t fulfilling without your health and your relationships.
Success is empty if you aren’t there to share it, or if you’re too unwell to enjoy it.
Focus on your relationship with God, your friends and family, and your inner peace.
How you treat others and how you serve is the only legacy that lasts. Thank you for the birthday love. I’m so grateful and let’s continue to make this next year great as well!
