Our iconic white tee merges with ethereal art, for a one-of-a-kind GapStudio look. By @zacposen for @kendalljenner. For The Met Gala.
“We started with a white Gap t-shirt, manipulating it, pulling and draping to echo the movement you see in carved parian marble,” says Zac. The look draws inspiration from the historic Winged Victory of Samothrace, interpreted through liquid jersey draped over a custom-molded form, hand dyed in tea.
From there, Zac 3D scanned Kendall’s body and built a mannequin to mold the leather corset and bustier to her exactly. And of course, the wing-like extensions feature a digital print of the original sculpture’s wings. The finished look honors the iconic inspiration — transformed into something entirely new.
“Zac is one of those people who make you fall back in love with fashion every time you talk to him,” says Kendall. His passion reflects in his designs and I am so excited we were able to collaborate on this special look.”
