Scottie Scheffler is one win away from accomplishing something only six golfers in history have ever done… and he’s surprisingly unfazed by it. ⛳️

The World No. 1 can complete the career Grand Slam with a victory at the U.S. Open, joining an exclusive group that includes Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan, and Gene Sarazen.

But while McIlroy famously spent 15 years chasing the final piece of the puzzle before completing the Grand Slam at The Masters in 2025, Scheffler says the accomplishment has never been a driving force in his career. 🤷‍♂️

Speaking to reporters this week, Scheffler explained that athletes are constantly chasing the next goal and that even a historic achievement like the Grand Slam wouldn’t suddenly leave him feeling fulfilled.

Instead, he says his focus has always been on becoming the best version of himself rather than checking boxes or building a résumé. 👍

To be fair, Scheffler’s situation is much different than Rory’s. McIlroy endured years of near-misses and mounting pressure before finally getting his green jacket.

Scheffler, meanwhile, is getting his first opportunity to complete the Grand Slam after winning both The Open Championship and PGA Championship in 2025. 😂

Maybe his perspective changes if the quest drags on for years. But for now, Scheffler seems remarkably nonchalant about the chance to achieve one of the rarest accomplishments in golf history.
