Robert De Niro has hit out again at Donald Trump, calling him an “idiot” and warning he could “ruin the country” in a series of outspoken remarks.
The actor, who has been a long-time critic of the former US president, also said he finds the direction of government “scares the hell out of me”, having previously spoken at public events and rallies about his concerns.
Trump has since responded by renewing his own criticism of De Niro, continuing a long-running back-and-forth between the pair.
