Sabrina Carpenter has received a temporary restraining order against a man she says stalked her and attempted to enter her Los Angeles home. A judge ordered 31-year-old William Applegate to stay at least 100 yards away from Carpenter and her residence until a hearing on June 17, where a decision will be made about making the order permanent.

According to Carpenter’s court filing, Applegate, whom she does not know, began monitoring her property in April and on May 23, he allegedly bypassed security barriers and tried to force his way into her home. Security camera footage reportedly showed him claiming he knew Carpenter and refusing to leave when asked by security personnel. Police arrested him, but he was later released after being booked on a misdemeanor charge. Carpenter says he returned to her home twice in the following days, including one occasion when he sat outside the property for several hours.
