Most fans get annoyed when the opposing fanbase says “we lost, your team didn’t win.” “The Knicks didn’t win, we blew it.” But in this series, that’s JUST FINE WITH ME. Because exposing Wemby for the dirty, fraudulent, extremely unlikable prick that he is was perhaps just as satisfying as the Knicks winning a title for the first time in 53 yrs. I am SO proud of Knicks fans and New York City for seeing RIGHT THROUGH this bullshit and showing the world the light. Whether it’s the fans, or the media, or both, eveyone has just been slurping this guy. Watching from afar I just took everyone at their word. But like TWO MINUTES into this series it was painfully obvious what Wemby was. A performative phony off the court. Nothing more than a meticulously curated persona that I guess regular folks believed and ate up, while Knicks fans instantly recognized it was all an act.
