San Francisco is celebrating America’s 250th birthday with its only official fireworks show of the year, and for the first time, they’ll be launched directly from the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The free display is scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. tonight, with the best views from Crissy Field, Marina Green, Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf.
If you’re planning to go, arrive early, dress in layers, and take public transit if possible. Parking will fill quickly, and the Golden Gate Bridge will close to vehicle traffic from 9-10 p.m., with nearby freeway closures starting around 8 p.m.
