Sabastian Sawe of Kenya has made history, becoming the first person to officially break the 2 hour barrier in a competitive marathon.
The 29 year old won the 2026 TCS London Marathon on Sunday in 1:59:30, smashing the previous world record of 2:00:35 by 65 seconds.
Second place finisher Yomif Kejelcha also ran under 2 hours in his first ever marathon, finishing in 1:59:41. Sawe nearly missed the race entirely after an injury ravaged training camp.
