Oregon QB Dylan Raiola is competing with Brock Thomas for the backup job and could begin the 2026 season as QB3.
When Raiola transferred to Oregon, he fully expected to be Dante Moore’s backup, but Thomas is currently making a strong push in Spring Ball to remain QB2.
“Brock Thomas threw to Oregon players during their pro day. Just that choice alone tells you Oregon pass catchers believe in him. Dylan Raiola will have to earn the #2 spot behind Dante. Nothing will be given,” George Wrighster III wrote.
Thomas established himself as the primary backup in the 2025 season before Austin Novosad and Luke Moga departed via the transfer portal. Thomas stepped in for extended snaps against Wisconsin, finishing with 46 passing yards and a touchdown in relief.
As he continues to work his way back from a fibula injury, Raiola finds himself in an unexpected QB battle.
