Love is in the air, quite literally! Today, #AngelaNikolau and #IvanBeerkus, who are featured in the 2024 Netflix documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story,” made headlines after getting engaged atop New York’s Empire State Building.

The couple, dressed in black masks, climbed to the top of the iconic building, where they displayed a large banner that read, “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.” Following this heartfelt gesture, Ivan got down on one knee and proposed to Angela.

After the proposal, the couple climbed back down. However, according to the BBC, the New York Police Department took them into custody. They were atop the 1,454-foot (443-meter) building for at least ten minutes, and the NYPD has stated that no charges have been filed yet. Angela and Ivan share a passion for climbing and have scaled buildings around the globe. The documentary captures their unique love story. Angela, a painter with a background in dance and acrobatics, comes from a family of circus performers. She expressed, “Our climbs aren’t about spectacle—they’re a ritual. A performance where fear becomes part of the art. We don’t go up for the view; we go up for freedom.” 📸:@gettyimages (SWIPE)✍🏾:#TSRStaffJR
