MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred says momentum is growing for players to take part in the LA28 Olympics.
He noted that a few issues still need to be worked out with the MLBPA, but he’s confident they can be resolved and that the league is much closer to making Olympic participation a reality.
Manfred was also asked about MLB’s relationship to LA28 Chair Casey Wasserman, whose name appeared in the recently released Epstein files.
He kept his distance, saying MLB’s dealings are with the Olympic institution rather than any individual. Wasserman has been backed by the LA28 board and has not been accused of wrongdoing.
