The reviews for The Mandalorian & Grogu, the first Star Wars movie in seven years, aren’t pretty. 👎
Given how much lead actor Pedro Pascal likely got paid for the role compared to little he actually appears on screen, it’s doubtful he cares all that much. 🤷♂️
With a 60% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and many reviews calling the project a soulless supersized episode of television, The Mandalorian & Grogu has been far from the return to the big screen that Lucasfilm and Disney hoped it’d be. 🍅
While Pedro Pascal certainly seems like the type of actor who wants to be putting out good work, it’s likely he won’t be losing any sleep over the poor reviews, as one particularly scathing from The Independent confirms he has just FIVE MINUTES of mask-off face time in the movie.
Although his salary for The Mandalorian & Grogu has not been disclosed, it’s safe to assume that it’s at least double what he was making on the TV show (a reported $600,000/episode, which equates to just under $5 million per season). 💰
💬 - “Is his stunt double eligible for an Oscar nom?” one fan on social media cracked wise.
Later this year, Pascal will likely be earning another hefty Disney-stamped paycheck as he’ll be starring as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in Avengers: Doomsday.
Pascal’s slate isn’t all blockbuster fare, though. In addition to starring in The Fantastic Four: First Steps last year, he also starred in Ari Aster’s Eddington. 🎬
He’s also recently signed on to star in Park Chan-Wook’s The Brigands of Rattlecreek alongside Matthew McConaughey and Austin Butler, and is also attached to Tony Gilroy’s (Andor, Michael Clayton) upcoming drama Behemoth.
