Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is facing escalating calls to resign after newly released Justice Department records showed he continued associating with Jeffrey Epstein long after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for sex crimes involving a minor.
The documents, released late last month, show Lutnick remained in contact with Epstein as recently as 2018, contradicting Lutnick’s repeated claims that he cut off the relationship in the mid-2000s.
Traders predict a 54% chance Lutnick will leave the Trump administration before 2027.
