Jake Paul has admitted that the broken jaw he suffered against Anthony Joshua in December may have ended his boxing career. Joshua stopped Paul in the sixth round at the Kaseya Center in Miami, breaking his jaw in two places with a heavy right hand that left Paul unable to beat the count.
Paul required surgery afterward, with two titanium plates inserted to stabilize the fractures. He also lost teeth during the fight and will need implants. Five months on, he says the jaw is improving but he still hasn’t been cleared to spar, and his own doctor has advised him against returning to the ring.
Despite all of that, Paul said he has no regrets. The fight reportedly earned him $92 million, and he called the whole experience a net positive for his career, his companies and his content. He finished with 12 wins and two losses across 14 professional fights, though Joshua was the first world class boxer he ever faced.
